Who Picks the Jury?

You cannot pick your jury. You can only remove jurors.

You're presented with the panel, usually 30 to 35 potential jurors. In federal court the judge asks questions. In state court your lawyer asks questions.

The questions relate only to the potential juror’s ability to be fair and impartial.

You can remove some jurors (usually a maximum of 10) for what is called a peremptory challenge. That means you only have to explain the reason you’re removing them if the other attorney suggests a racial or ethnic motive on your part.

You can remove an unlimited number of jurors for cause. That means you can rationally argue that they are unqualified to sit as a juror.

My experience with Mr. Behr and his staff was nothing short of phenomenal. I hope to not ever need representation again. But In the case I do. J would absolutely use Mr. Behr. I would also fully recommend him to anyone I know in need of representation. Jeff

He filed motion after motion until the judge finally dismissed my case. He even took it to another judge. The guy never stopped and let nothing stop him. He was all over the prosecutor and knew more law than the judge, it was super cool to watch the man work. He is the best lawyer in the county. Jose
